South Sound Dance (est. 2014) was founded by Hannah Taylor-Kormondy, our Artistic Director and CEO, with the belief that the performing arts can change lives. From the very beginning, the studio has been about more than dance. It has always been about community, connection, and creating a safe place for young people to grow into amazing artists and humans.
In early 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted schools, work, and daily life, we asked an important question: How can we support families right now?
Fine Arts Preschool began as a direct response to that moment.
We opened two small, carefully structured classes, one for preschool-aged children and one for elementary-aged students. These classes gave families a safe place where children could complete schoolwork, express themselves through art and movement, and stay connected with other kids while parents worked.
Classes were masked, distanced, and sanitized constantly. More importantly, they were warm, engaging, and human. Families needed stability, creativity, and connection, and this program provided all three.
As schools eventually resumed, our elementary-aged program naturally came to an end. But something magical was brewing with our preschoolers.
They were thriving.
They were learning deeply, building friendships, and developing confidence through a blend of early academics and the arts. Ending that part of the program didn't feel right, so we chose to grow it instead.
Fine Arts Preschool evolved into a fully developed, arts-integrated early learning program that continues to grow today. We have now watched countless children develop into smart, creative, healthy, and happy human beings, and we are not stopping.
Education enriched with art, music, dance, yoga, and drama may be exactly what your child needs to thrive, and we are so excited to be apart of that journey!

Hello! My I am Miss Cyrra and I am the director of Fine Arts Preschool at South Sound Dance. I teach PreK classes meant to transform children’s learning experiences by tapping into the creative side of their brain. I have a passion for supporting children's mental and physical health through artistic play.
I studied visual arts at Cornish College of the Arts before transferring and graduating from The Evergreen State College with a Bachelor of Arts. My focus at Evergreen was in Psychology and Sculpture, specifically Metal Fabrication and Stone Carving. I have worked as a teacher's assistant at Elementary Schools and Art Studios in Montana and Washington. I also have large amounts of experience teaching adults at TESC and as a nanny!
I joined the South Sound Dance team during the pandemic to improve our students lives and help them be able to continue to engage academically and with their peers, and I am pleased to say that's exactly what we are doing! I am so excited to explore and create with your children every day and I can't wait to connect with your family.
Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to hear more about our program.
